Students enrolling in this course should be creative, innovative and be prepared to work outside the box.
The aim of this course is to give students an understanding of how business operates as part of the New Zealand economy. Students will also develop skills in preparing and refining a business plan for their own business. They will also carry out market research based on a product. This course will enable students to explain the need for an enterprise culture in New Zealand.
The main topics studied will be the following:
develop and refine a business plan for your own business entity
design, conduct, and present market research for a product
explain motivation theories and practice
explain the roles and skills of managers and leaders
explain organisational culture.
explain sustainable (economic) business expectations and practices
explain ethical expectations and issues relating to business activities
