Technology

What is technology about?

Technology is intervention by design to expand human possibilities.

Almost every aspect of daily life – food, health care, transport, communications, entertainment, our environment – uses technology.
This technology is constantly evolving: today’s 'new technology' may be superseded tomorrow or in a year’s time.
New Zealanders have long been technological innovators and creators. Our economy has been driven by creative problem solvers, designers and inventors.

Students today need interactive experiences in keeping with the technological communities of practice which are currently informing and developing our future.

Through technology education, students have the opportunity to develop a broad technological literacy and to experience and explore a wide range of technologies in a variety of contexts that will enable them to participate as informed participants in an ever-changing world.
