Course Description

Tourism is a teacher guided course at The Catlins Area School - teacher support is available on site. *National Certificate in Tourism (Core Skills)* This qualification has been specifically designed for secondary school students and provides students with an introduction to the tourism industry. It recognises the knowledge and skills required as a base for further training in the tourism industry. The Compulsory section ensures people awarded with this qualification are able to demonstrate knowledge of tourist characteristics and needs, the business of tourism, destination New Zealand, world tourist destination.
